There has been no question mark over Virat's captaincy, says new RCB director Mike Hesson

RCB director of cricket Mike Hesson has stated that the team management doesn't have any question over Virat Kohli's captaincy and everyone is on the same page at the moment. He has also added that the team will keep a close eye on different domestic tournaments to get better players on board.
Ever since Virat Kohli took over RCB captaincy in 2013, the team has failed to win a single trophy so far and his unimaginative captaincy has left every RCB fan frustrated. That has something to do with the way he led, often being in hurry and always behind the eight ball. While many thought with the introduction of Mike Hesson, the team management might feel it prudent to replace Kohli with someone else, Hesson himself ruled out the possibility.
"We don't have that perception that Virat controls things. But maybe he has had his learnings from the past (mistakes) while moving forward," Hesson said during a media interaction. "There has been no question mark over Virat's captaincy during the last couple of weeks (of discussions). We have been very much aligned and he has been more than happy to take our advice from our experience," the former New Zealand coach said, reported Cricbuzz.
RCB have appointed Malolan Rangarajan as the head of their scouting as he will keep track on obscure T20 tournaments to find players to be picked in the auction. A process that Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians have followed over the years, RCB, for the first time, is moving in the direction. Hesson feels it is a start and the franchise will keep an eye on tournaments like Vijay Hazare Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
"We have appointed a head of scouting. That's a good start. We will also employ some scouts who will go to tournaments. The Syed Mushtaq Ali is an obvious one, Vijay Hazare another one, especially heading into the bigger auctions (for 2021 season) where you need to be well advanced in your thinking in terms of the players that you need to look at. We are going to be proactive in how we aim to do it. Not potentially a traditional look at scorecards and have a trial, we are going to be more in-depth," said Hesson.
