India to play a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka in January 2020

The BCCI have confirmed that Team India will play a three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka in January 2020. India were originally scheduled to play Zimbabwe in 3 T20Is during the same time period, but In the wake of Zimbabwe’s suspension by ICC, Sri Lanka have been roped in as their replacement.

Sri Lanka will play a three-match T20I series against India, a series which will be replacing the three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed in a press release. The BCCI and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have announced the schedule for forthcoming Sri Lanka’s tour of India during the month of January 2020. The dates for the series have been confirmed as January 5th, January 7th and January 10th next year, with the series set to follow the three-match ODI series that India will play against West Indies towards the end of 2019.

Team India were originally scheduled to play Zimbabwe on the exact same dates, however, in the wake of Zimbabwe’s suspension by ICC, the BCCI have instead invited Sri Lanka to participate in the three-match series. Sri Lanka Cricket has confirmed their participation and the itinerary is as under –

Schedule:

1st T20I, India vs Sri Lanka in Guwahati on 5th Jan 2020

2nd T20I, India vs Sri Lanka in Indore on 7th Jan 2020

3rd T20I, India vs Sri Lanka in Pune on 10th Jan 2020
