Premier League clubs are in a hurry to get their desired targets over the line before the transfer window slams shut. They have already collectively spent almost 800 million pounds, and with the clubs ready to splash cash before the end of the window it is likely to reach the 1-billion-pound mark.

So let’s look at the signings your favourite Premier League clubs are likely to make before the end of the window.

1. Manchester City

Pep Guardiola’s side are flying at the moment, and are sitting on the top of the table with three wins from three games. The new manager has already signed a whole array of stars in the transfer window, but on deadline day, all focus will be on Joe Hart. The England goalkeeper has been on the bench in City’s three Premier League games, and will have to find a new club after the arrival of Claudio Bravo from Barcelona. The England international has been linked with a loan move to Serie A side Torino. Man City are likely to pay a large chunk of Hart’s wages in a bid to find him a new club.

Although Guardiola has not ruled out any more signings, it is highly unlikely that City will add any more players to their roster after signing eight this summer.

2. Chelsea

Sandwiched at the second spot in the PL table between the Manchester Clubs, Chelsea have started their season under new coach Antonio Conte in a much better fashion than last year. But, on the transfer market, the Italian coach has found it difficult to bring in new players with the club out of European competitions. Conte will look to add a central defender and a full back before the end of the window, while the club are closing in on a deal for Croatian midfielder Marcelo Brozovic of Inter Milan. Left-back Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina and another central defender are also likely to arrive before the end of the transfer window.

3. Manchester United

Jose Mourinho’s side have won three out of three in the league, and are currently third in the standings on goal difference behind city rivals Man City and Chelsea. The Red Devils have already signed a host of stars in the form of Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Eric Bailly. However, if newspaper reports are to be believed, then United could dip into their transfer dollars on deadline day to sign another central defender and a right back. A certain Jose Fonte of Southampton has been linked with United, and with the 32-year-old sharing the same agent as Jose Mourinho, a move could be on the cards.

Brazilian right-back Fabinho from Monaco is another name who has been linked with United, and just like last summer transfer window deadline day, when they signed Antony Martial, another player from Monaco could sign for the Red Devils.

If the club are able to sign Fonte and Fabinho, then that could force Marcos Rojo to join La Liga side Valencia as a replacement for the Arsenal-bound Shkodran Mustafi. Bastian Schweinsteiger is also likely to leave the club on deadline day with Mourinho not too keen on the midfielder’s services.

4. Arsenal

Arsenal fans' hue and cry for signings are likely to be fulfilled before the end of the transfer window with Valencia centre back Shkodran Mustafi and Deportivo striker Lucas Perez headed for Emirates. That is likely to end Arsenal’s incomings this transfer window, but Jack Wilshere is likely to lead the outgoings with Arsene Wenger keen on his star midfielder finding some playing time. A loan switch to Premier League clubs could be on the cards for the midfielder with many clubs reportedly keen on his services.

5. Liverpool

One win in their three games in Premier League has left the Reds from Merseyside at 11th place in the table. Fans have been calling for an upgrade on left-back Alberto Moreno and for a new defensive midfielder, but Jurgen Klopp seems to be happy with the options in his squad. Rumours about a move for Brazilian striker Luan Guilherme de Jesus Vieira, simply known as Luan, have been in the air, but reports from Merseyside have distanced the club from a move for the Gremio striker. The move for Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic is also unlikely to be completed in this transfer window with the German Club reluctant to part ways with the youngster.

However, the club will have a lot of outgoings on deadline day with Mario Balotelli, Lazar Markovic, and Tiago Ilori all out of Klopp’s plans. Balotelli is likely to move to French Club Nice, while Ilori and Markovic will also be moved either on permanent or loan deals.

With transfer deadline day likely to bring a whole host of signings for Premier League clubs, the race for the title and Champions League places will definitely heat up after the international break. A good signing tomorrow, while in itself will not make or break a season, can push the needle almost all the way.
