Diego Maradona excited to take on Sourav Ganguly in an exhibition match

Footballing legend Diego Maradona expressed his excitement ahead of his upcoming charity match against Bengal's very own Sourav Ganguly via his Facebook page. The Argentine footballer is set to visit Kolkata in September and will feature in the match scheduled to take place on September 19th.

The exhibition match titled 'Diego vs Dada' is all set to take place at Aditya School of Sports in Barasat on the auspicious day of Mahalaya which is when the Durga Puja festivities start in Bengal.

And Diego Maradona expressed how excited he was to take on the Prince of Kolkata via a post on his Facebook page.

Ganguly is expected to receive a pair of signed boots from Maradona who is likely to be accompanied by Carlos Valderrama in the match that will feature Indian footballers, cricketers, Bollywood and Tollywood actors.

“Bhaichung Bhutia, Jose Barreto, Jo-Paul Ancheri and IM Vijayan have confirmed participation. While there will be Manoj Tiwary, Deep Dasgupta from the cricket fraternity. From the Bollywood industry, we are in talks with Ranveer Singh,” promoter of the event Satadru Dutta told Indian Express.

The venue of the match has a capacity of 20,000 spectators. However, only 5000 tickets will go up for sale according to Dutta as the rest will be booked by the sponsors.
