After a disappointing ISL season that saw ATK changing as many as three coaches in a failed attempt to get something out of it, the two-time champions have now appointed Stephen Coppell for 2018-19. The former Manchester United player has previously managed Kerala Blasters and Jamshedpur FC.

Two-time ISL champions, ATK have signed English World Cup player Stephen Coppell as the Head Coach for the upcoming season of Indian Super League. Coppell has had an illustrious career as a right winger for both his country England and his club, Manchester United.

An experienced manager, 62-year old Steve Coppell has been the manager for English clubs such as Crystal Palace and Reading, achieving major success with them. He has also managed clubs such as Manchester City, Bristol City, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Brentford.

Steve Coppell is not new to ISL and has previously been Manager for Kerala Blasters and Jamshedpur FC.

“I am glad to welcome our new Head Coach Steve Coppell to the ATK family. It has been our effort to build an experienced and balanced side, which will be enhanced with Coppell joining the squad this season. One of the world’s most respected wingers and an exceptional manager himself, I am hopeful Steve will lead the way for ATK with his unique strategies and his enthusiasm,” said Sanjiv Goenka, Principal Owner, ATK.

“I am delighted to accept the position of Head Coach for ATK for the coming season. ATK has a proud history in the ISL and I hope that with the hard work and skill, we can match the ambitions of our fans and everyone associated with the Club," Steve Coppell, Head Coach, ATK
