Youngster Gaurav Mukhi has been asked to come before the disciplinary action committee of the All India Football Federation for a hearing on his age related controversy that had erupted recently. His real age is a point of contention as his on-paper age and real age is not believed to be the same.

Mukhi is at the centre of a controversy surrounding his real age and now the All India Football Federation has summoned him to its head office on Saturday for a personal hearing on the matter. His age on-paper is 16 years but after he scored a goal for Jamshedpur FC franchise a controversy has erupted surrounding his real age.

“In the interest of fair play, the AIFF Disciplinary Committee based on prima facie seriousness of the issue has put the player under ‘suspension’ from participation in any AIFF events until a final decision is reached,” a press release said.

Though the player himself has denied being over-age. Suspension for the player from participation from any AIFF events means that Mukhi will not be able to take part in the ISL until any final decision by AIFF is made.

Earlier before the Under-17 Football World Cup, Mukhi was summoned for a camp but he, along with four teammates from the U-15 nationals-winning Jharkhand team, had admitted they were over-age, now the controversy seems to have re-erupted after his goal against Bengaluru FC in this ISL season.
