Bengaluru FC’s under 18 team carried on their recent form in the ongoing Y-League by defeating Boca juniors by 6-1 goals in the third round of the Karnataka-Andhra zone. Midfielder Amay Morajkar scored two goals and was the star for the team from Bengaluru in the one-sided contest.

The young Blues began on the offensive and it took them just five minutes to open the scoring as Amay latched onto a cross from Rahul Rajan to send an acrobatic effort past Marvin Paul in the Boca Juniors goal. BFC doubled their lead in fortuitous circumstances after what appeared to be a cross from Jagdeep looped over all the players and into the frame of goal past a hapless Marvin.

On the twenty-minute mark, Boilen scored what would be the goal of the game with a strike from distance. Having found himself in some space outside the area, the midfielder unleashed a strike that had too much on it for Marvin to keep out. Tanmoy Saha and Rahul rattled the woodwork before a cross from the former found Ronik unmarked in the area to make it 4-0 on 28 minutes.

Boca Juniors managed to pull one back shortly after Tamal Naskar was adjudged to have brought down the striker inside the box, prompting referee Suresh Devraj to point to the spot. Gautam Kapoor managed to send Tamal the wrong way to make it 4-1, a score that would remain unchanged until the break.

Bengaluru scored two more on the other side of the half as Amay, who had been controlling play in the middle of the park, went on a solo run beating as many as three defenders before a composed finish past Marvin for his second and the Blue Colts’ fifth.

John Kenneth Raj’s side rounded off the scores with a sixth goal 10 minutes from time as Akashdeep, who came on as a second half substitute poked the ball past a defender and took a swipe from the edge of the area that went past a diving Boca goalkeeper.

The BFC U18s next travel to Anantapur, where they take on Ananthapur Sports Academy in their first away clash of the Karnataka Andra Zone, on November 6.
