Manchester United and Leicester City have finally come to an agreement for Harry Maguire, with the Red Devils set to pay a world-record sum of £85 million. The two clubs finally reached an agreement, putting an end to what seemed like a never-ending transfer saga for the 26-year-old.

Manchester United are all set to sign Harry Maguire for a world-record sum of £85 million, after finally coming to an agreement with Leicester City.  The two sides have been battling out a transfer fee for the 26-year-old center back all summer, with an agreement looking very unlikely. However, that has changed with the Telegraph exclusively reporting that the two sides have come to an agreement.

The world record fee doesn’t include add-ons and bonuses, with that set to be added on later on which will take the fee well above £90 million. The fee eclipses the mere £75 million that Liverpool shelled out for Virgil Van Dijk last summer, which was exactly what Leicester City wanted.

Earlier, reports indicated that the Foxes were holding out for a world record sum, which had frustrated Maguire. So much so that the 26-year-old was left out of Leicester City’s pre-season squad against Atalanta at the King Power. This effectively puts an end to the long-running transfer saga, with medicals and various other agreements set to follow.
