Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has rubbished recent reports which claimed that forward Alexis Sanchez has been training with the club's reserves. Sanchez has struggled for both form and first team minutes after arriving from Arsenal in a swap move in January 2018.

Reports were ripe that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been unimpressed by Alexis Sanchez’s lack of form and as a result he had been banished to train with United’s reserves. The Chilean has been heavily linked with a move away, with Serie A sides AS Roma, Inter Milan and Juventus all keen on a move.

However, the United boss has quashed those claims, going on to say, “Alexis is such a professional and he comes in working every single day really hard and he wants to be a part of this. There are these stories he’s been put in the reserves – of course he hasn’t, he’s part of our squad and he is a really good player," Solskjaer said, reported BBC.

“He has had three weeks now, so he’s a few weeks behind the rest but close to being part of it. We don’t have the biggest forward line in numbers so Alexis might end up playing a lot more games than you expect and we expect him to come good at this club, he’s quality.”

Sanchez suffered a hamstring injury while playing for Chile in last month’s Copa America, ruling him out of the Red Devil’s pre-season fixtures and the opening Premier League clash against rivals Chelsea.
