Gameweek 4 is here and with it all the entertainment that Premier League football has on offer starting with the managers stepping out for their pre-match press conferences. Even though the Champions League draw took precedence, Jurgen Klopp did manage to sneak in a quip about the summer window.

Tottenham

Despite thrashing Aston Villa 3-1 in their season opener, Spurs walk into the first North London derby of the season on the back of a two-game winless run, including a 1-0 loss to Newcastle United. That was one of Gameweek 3’s shocking results, with the Magpies getting their first win of the season. However, amidst rumours of his potential departure following the derby, Mauricio Pochettino addressed it in the pre-match press-conference.

“After five years here now I have just started my sixth. You know how hard we worked in the summer to try and rebuild but those rumours are only created through social media. I am not going to walk away after the derby. I’m going to be here on Monday and Tuesday. I'm going to travel and then I will return to London. I’m not this type or person that sends messages through social media,” said Pochettino.

Manchester City

Manchester City have arguably the easiest fixture list for the next few months, not facing a top-six side between last week and the opening week of November. It’s a tough pill to swallow for their title rivals, but realistically, this is their race to lose.

“Europe should be closed like English teams. I support that the window should close when you start the Premier League season. One player can play the first fixture for one team and another for the other team. The best thing for Europe would be to make an agreement to close the window at the same time," Guardiola told the BBC.

Liverpool

The Reds battle Burnley in what should be one of their toughest games against a team outside the top six and one that might show just how tough the Premier League can be. But with the Champions League groups out, Jurgen Klopp had a lot to say about his schedule and the transfer window.

“We have a busy schedule but there is no reason to rest players at this moment. It will after the international break, but now is not the time for a lot of changes. It's about who is in the best shape. The transfer business is a European business or a world business. we have been used to Russia and China being open for longer but it's different when the Spanish and the Italian leagues are still open because they are direct competitors," said Klopp.

Chelsea

Frank Lampard earned his first win as a Chelsea boss last week, which has proved to energize the Blues boss. Apart from talking about the Champions League draw, Lampard, who won one game against Sheffield United last season, credited Chris Wilder for his tactical ingenuity ahead of Chelsea's second consecutive clash against a newly promoted side.

“I was very impressed with them last season, the job Chris has done can’t be underappreciated. He feels deeply about the club and I felt that last year. I look forward to going up against them. You have to give credit where it’s due. It is where they caught the eye last season and I enjoyed the tactical battle. It gives you a lot of threats. In terms of the Premier League, we will see if they adapt slightly and how people adapt to them. There is not just a tactical edge, but a physical edge and that might have grown slightly,” Lampard said.

“There is never an easy Champions League draw. Valencia, Lille and Ajax, no walkover at all. It is a strong group all the way through. Mestalla is a difficult ground to go to, if you are not at it or ready it is difficult."
