Kerala Blasters continued their spending spree as they roped in Senegalese central midfielder Moustapha Gning to further shore up their already rich midfield. The African would be Kerala’s fifth foreign signing this transfer window as the ISL side is going through a complete revamp.

Blasters have got themselves a serious asset in the towering midfielder Gning, who is 184 cm in height and at 30, would be quite experienced in the trade he has been plying. He has previously played for the likes of SD Ejea, Lleida Esportiu, CD Ebro, SD Amorebieta, CD Sariñena, UD Logroñés and Andorra CF.

"We are very happy and proud to have signed a player like Moustapha who is a rock in the midfield. Players like him, who are willing to put in that extra effort are like cement that keeps the team together. Looking forward to working with him," Kerala Blasters head coach Eelco Schattorie said, reported Goal.

"I’m really excited to be a part of Kerala Blasters and can’t wait to start playing for the team. I appreciate the opportunity and am really curious to know more about Indian football and discover the culture of an amazing state like Kerala. My ultimate goal is to put in my best on the pitch and fight for the goals of the club," said the new signing.

After a disappointing finish in the bottom half of the table, the Blasters went all guns blazing in getting reinforcements. After getting Schattorie from NorthEast United FC, they have already got in Bartholomew Ogbeche, Mario Arques, Sergio Cidoncha and Gianni Zuiverloon.
