Indian footballer Dhanpal Ganesh is focussed on his work and is not at all concerned about the negatives. The Chennaiyin FC footballer, along with five others, was released from the Indian national camp by Igor Stimac ahead of the upcoming King’s Cup to be held this month in Thailand.

The Indian team will be playing its first international tournament ever since their exit from the AFC Asian Cup and the departure of their former head coach Stephen Constantine in the upcoming King’s Cup. The Blue Tigers will meet Curacao in the first game of the tournament which will be held on June 5 and the newly-appointed manager is making his boys ready for the four-nation event.

Recently, six players – Dhanpal Ganesh, Narayan Das, Salam Ranjan Singh, Rowllin Borges, Komal Thatal and an injured Anwar Ali (Jr) were released from the national camp which started earlier in May in Delhi with a total of 37 players. Ganesh, who was a part of the Indian squad in the AFC Asian Cup, however, is not disappointed with his exclusion and is aiming to come back stronger.

"He is focused on the job and doesn't want to think about the negatives. He hopes to be back for the next tournament," a source close to the player told TOI.

The final list of 23 players to represent India in the King’s Cup will be announced soon. Prior to that, the newly-appointed coach has stated that the hardest part of his job is to leave out players after they have put in a good effort for 10 days in the camp.

"We are more than happy with the commitment of players and have really enjoyed working with them. They are passionate, excited and are making obvious progress on a daily basis. The hardest part of the job comes when decisions are to be done about releasing some of them after hard work they put in for the past ten days," Stimac said.
