According to reports in Goal.com, coach Igor Stimac will start the preparations for the upcoming Intercontinental Camp from 25th of this month in Mumbai. The Indian football team will take on Tajikistan in the opening encounter of the four-nation tournament on July 7 in Ahmedabad.

After finishing third in the recently-concluded King’s Cup, the Indian football team’s next target is the four-nation Intercontinental Cup which is scheduled to be held in July at TransStadia in Ahmedabad. The Indian team’s new coach Igor Stimac, whose first assignment with the senior team was at the King’s Cup, is leaving no stone unturned to keep the boys ready.

According to the reports in the website, the Croatian will be holding a preparatory camp for the Indian boys ahead of the tournament in Mumbai. The camp is scheduled to start from June 25 at the Mumbai Football Arena.

As per the website sources, the coach will not call as many players as he did in the first ever camp that he held with the Indian team after taking the charge ahead of the King’s Cup. Earlier, he had called 37 players for a camp in Delhi and out of that 23 players were selected in the final squad for the King’s Cup.

India will meet Tajikistan in the first game of the tournament on July 7. In the next two matches, the hosts will face DPR Korea on July 13 and Syria on July 16. The Blue Tigers had lifted the trophy in the previous edition of the tournament after they defeated Kenya in the final last year.
