Arsene Wenger has claimed that Eden Hazard is the answer for Real Madrid but the Belgian will not be able to replace Cristiano Ronaldo. The Belgian joined Los Blancos last summer but he has scored just one goal in six appearances for the club with injuries preventing him from making a bigger impact.

With a terrible 2018/19 season riding their back, Real Madrid entered the summer window with their wallets open and ready to spend. By the time the window closed the Los Blancos spent close to £300 million on players, including Luka Jovic, Eder Militao, Rodrygo, Ferland Mendy and Europa League winner Eden Hazard. While the first four have made a decent impact on the club, it’s the Belgian superstar that many expected to shine. But the former Chelsea star, who made the move for a fee of around £130 million has struggled with injuries and other issues playing a part.

So much so that it took the 28-year-old six games to score his first goal for the Los Blancos with questions being asked about his fitness and whether he’s really good enough for Real Madrid. This has seen a few critics speak out about the Belgian but former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that the Belgian is the answer for the Santiago Bernabeu side. The Frenchman went on to add that while Hazard will score and create goals, he will never hit that 50 goal mark consistently like the way the Portuguese legend once did for the Los Blancos.

“He will be the answer but not in replacing Ronaldo that is for sure. They need another goal scorer in Real Madrid because Benzema is now 32 and if they had someone younger around him to score the goals, maybe they could do very well Eden Hazard is an exceptional player to create chances to sometimes finish when he needs to do in big games,” he said to beIN Sports.

“He's not scared of anybody - I don't think Real have yet to see the real Hazard, he's not as sharp physically as he can be. That's why I believe they will discover the real Hazard,” concluded Wenger.
