Barcelona have created a shortlist of four strikers that could replace Luis Suarez at the club as the Uruguayan reaches the end of his career. The La Liga giants are looking for a new centre forward as the club aims to prepare for life after Luis Suarez and are willing to spend to get their man.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona have created a four-man shortlist to replace Luis Suarez in the near future. The report goes on to add that the names include high profile stars like Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford and Lautaro Martinez. However, any move will depend on Luis Suarez's performances and then the club will determine if the signing is accelerated next summer or if it is postponed to 2021.

Barcelona’s recent recruits like Antoine Griezmann, Frenkie De Jong, Arthur have raised the bar and quality of the team while the emergence of home-grown talents like Ansu Fati and Carles Perez have reinstated faith in La Masia. But the Catalan giants are still in search of a number nine who can replace Suarez permanently with the 32-year-old coming to the end of his time at Camp Nou.

The former Liverpool star will turn 33 in January which is why Barcelona are keen to secure their future in the attack and Mundo Deportivo goes on to add that Kylian Mbappe is the dream for the Catalans. His unquestionable talent makes him one of the best players in this decade but signing Mbappe next season will be extremely difficult as PSG will either hold onto their star or demand fees in excess of €150 million.

However, PSG’s stance might soften in 2021 when Mbappe has one year left on his current contract, provided he does renew it, which would expire in the summer of 2020. Real Madrid are also considering a move for the Frenchman reports indicate and this could prove problematic for Barcelona. Harry Kane has also been discussed as a reported successor but the problem is that he has a contract Tottenham until 2024.

The La Liga giants will not only have to shell a huge transfer fee but will also have to pay a kings-ransom in wages. Lautaro Martinez of Inter and Marcus Rashford of Manchester United are the other two names on the table and reportedly the two cheapest names. But Mundo Deportivo further adds that Barcelona’s board are of the opinion that these young strikers need to be scouted further before any concrete offer is made.
