With Manchester United plagued with injuries, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has got a welcome boost with Anthony Martial back in training ahead of their clash against Liverpool. The Frenchman has missed eight games with a serious injury after a brilliant start which has caused a few problems for the club.

The Frenchman has missed a large portion of the season so far and that includes both of Manchester United’s Europa League group stage games. However, with Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and even Daniel James being used as center-forwards Martial’s return to action and training will be a welcome boost for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Sky Sports and the BBC has reported that the forward has returned to full training and has a chance of making the first-team against Liverpool, who visit Old Trafford on October 20.

However, Sky Sports added that his presence as a part of the starting eleven will only be decided days before the match with Solskjaer still not convinced. The 23-year-old has been out since August with a  thigh injury and the club has struggled to score goals without him, with just two wins, four draws and two defeats bringing just five goals. That has seen Marcus Rashford and Solskjaer come under immense pressure but things could change with Martial's presence in the team.

The report also revealed that Paul Pogba, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw are all set to be in contention as well, with Mason Greenwood and Jesse Lingard considered fully fit. That does give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a major boost especially with Liverpool visiting Old Trafford on the Sunday after the international break.
