New Kerala Blasters forward Sergio Cidoncha sounded excited to pay alongside compatriot Mario Arques again next season, stating that the midfielder always looks for him on the pitch. Cidoncha also stated that the Blasters have the team and the coach finish at the top of the table in future.

After a decent season with Jamshedpur FC, where the 29-year-old forward ended his stint with three goals and three assists thereby helping the side to finish fifth on the table, Cidoncha would be playing for the Blasters next season.

And with the southern club going all guns blazing in the transfer market, roping in the likes of Arques, Cidoncha, Bartholomew Ogbeche, and more, the Spaniard sounded quite excited about linking up with his teammates.

"Mario (Arques) is a very good player. He is the typical Spanish player because he wants to play, he wants to keep the ball. It is very good for me. He is always looking for me on the pitch, looking forward.  I think Bart (Ogbeche) is one of the best players in the league. For us, it is a pleasure to play with him. We want to see him score lots of goals for us. I would love to give him a lot of assists to score," said Cidoncha, reported Goal.

After a disastrous last season, the Blasters have taken the Spanish route with a tactically sound coach Eelco Schattorie overseeing things. And Cindoncha stated that the attacking football could see the side reaching heights this season.

"Spanish players want to play attractive, attacking brand of football. The philosophy in Spain is to play with the ball and keep the ball. It is about beautiful football.

"We are working hard, we are improving. We can improve more. I think we have a good, competitive team. In the future, we can be at the top of the table. Many young players are coming in, they are very good. Like the other players, he (Eelco Schattorie) wants me to keep the ball and be focused on the pitch," he concluded.
