LIVE Hockey - India Men's tour of Australia | India vs Australia – Match 3
The Indian men’s team is unbeaten in their ongoing tour Down Under but they will have the real test on Wednesday when they will take on the senior Australia side. India started off the tour with a win in the warm-up game against WA Thundersticks and then won one and drew one against Australia A.
After the last game against Australia A ended on 1-1 draw for the Indian team, the Manpreet Singh-led side will now meet Australia senior team. This will be the first international tie for the newly-appointed Graham Reid and it is against his home state. The Indian team will want to sort out their major problem that is performing well in all the four quarters during the course of a hockey match.Â
In the first match against Australia A, the Indians dominated in the first quarter and scored three goals while in the previous outing, their only goal came in the 56th minute of the match. Coach Reid was quiet vocal after the last game about the importance of putting up a good show in all the quarters of the match.
It will be a good test for the Indian team as they will take on a strong Aussie unit as a part of their preparations for the upcoming FIH Series Finals which will be played in home conditions next month.Â
