After their home leg came to an end yesterday, Dabang Delhi KC coach Krishan Kumar Hooda has said that he is proud of the team that set the record of most wins at home in the ongoing sixth edition of PKL. Delhi managed to win five out of six matches that they played at home this season.

After their sensational show at home, Dabang Delhi has moved up to the third position of the Zone A points table with 60 points from 19 matches and are behind of U Mumba by only eight points. They have 10 wins so far in the sixth edition of the league while five of them came in their home leg which concluded yesterday at the Thyagraj Sports Complex in Delhi. In their last home game yesterday,  they got the better of Tamil Thalaivas by 37-33 points in a game where they had an upper edge till last few minutes before the full-time whistle.

The Delhi coach is happy with the performance of the team as they have now moved one step closer to the play-offs with three games to go for them. They lost to U Mumba who are ahead of them in the points table during their home leg and will face the team from the Commercial Capital in the next game in Vizag.

“I am really proud of this team that has set the record for the most matches won by any team in their home leg so far this season. I also want to thank our fans for their constant support. Our only desire was to play well. Just because we have won five matches it doesn’t mean that we won’t face any challenges going forward. We could lose some matches in the future as well,” Krishan Kumar Hooda said during the post-match press conference.

“Every team in this league is strong and things often come down to one or two points in the end. But I have belief in this team. The thing I am most happy about is that we have moved one step closer to the Playoffs with this victory.”

The Delhi team must be really happy seeing some of their experienced players coming back to form. Former Iran skipper Meraj Sheykh looked brilliant with the raids during the home leg while Vishal Mane also put up strong tackles against the opposition raiders during the last five games played at home for Delhi.

“The most important thing that the coach has taught me is that everything comes down to teamwork. This is not an individual sport and one player cannot win you the game. All the members of our squad have given more than a hundred per cent to the team, as a result of which we have the managed to do so well,” said Delhi skipper Joginder Narwal.

“The only game where I think we could have improved was the one against U Mumba. We had a sizeable lead which we gave away in that match. However, I realise that it’s a game and such things happen.”
