India face Iran in Kabaddi Master final in what is a repeat of the 2016 World Championships final, where Ajay Thakur had single-handedly won India the match. Iran would hope to prevent a repeat of the same, although they are without stars like Meraj Sheykh, Fazel Atrachali and Abozar Mohajermighani.

South Korea came the closest any side has come in the ongoing tournament to challenge India. However, their initial burst of determination and energy had soon gone down the gutter when Ajay Thakur entered the court and kept on raiding one after the other. The good thing about Iran would be hey already know what the Indian captain is capable of and would come to the match well-prepared for the same.

Like India, Iran have also been unchecked in the tournament so far with no one really standing up to them. A big advantage for Iran would be the rich vein of form they approach the final with after beating Pakistan by a margin of 21 points. India, on the other hand, were put under pressure by Korea whose pace prove to have found a chink in India’s armour before the coach swiftly changed the strategy. All-rounder Monu Goyat is expected to play a crucial role today too, after a match-winning display yesterday.
