Haryana Steelers and U Mumba will take on each-other for the second time this season and that too in the same leg. The home team will have just one thing in mind and that is taking revenge against the side that routed them badly when they first met in Sonipat in the second home game of Haryana.
Abhishek Singh and Siddharth Desai wrecked havoc in the first meeting of both the teams in the raiding department while Fazel Atrachali’s exceptional defending skills came in handy for the visitors as they thrashed Haryana 53-26. The U Mumba side is unbeaten so far in the competition and they will want to continue their dominance in today’s game as well. The Iranian coach-captain combination has proved to be very effective for them especially in the defence while the trio has also put up a great show in the raiding department. U Mumba is a strong favourite to continue leading Zone A on the points table.
Nothing has gone in the favour of the Steelers so far in PKL 2019 apart from the only home game that they won against Gujarat Fortunegiants. After being beaten by U Mumba in the game after that they have lost their way completely and like Tamil Thalaivas, their home leg is proving out to be a disappointing one for them as well. They have three very good raiders in the form of skipper Monu Goyat, Naveen Kumar and Vikash Kandola who have the capability of doing well in a given game. As Surender Nada has been ruled out due to an injury, their defence looks a bit unorganised. Although Kuldeep Singh proved effective in his first outing but the young man needs a lot to learn to be successful against top-class raiders.
