After a good day at the office against UP Yoddha, Siddharth Desai has said that he worked on his fitness after the first few games that Telugu Titans lost in their home leg. Telugu assistant coach Jagdish Kumble expressed his delight after the team’s good defensive performance last evening.

With plenty of errors on both sides of the mat in the last few minutes, the game between Telugu Titans and UP Yoddha ended with a 20-20 tie. A game in which the defenders of both the teams ruled most parts of the match, Siddharth Desai collected five raid points in the game. Telugu had earlier lost all their matches at home and Siddharth had a poor outing in that. Meanwhile, after the game against UP, the Kolhapur-born raider mentioned about his practice and hard work which helped him give a good performance on Friday.

“I worked on my mistakes and practised really hard after our first few games and I think that helped me produce a better performance today,” Siddharth said during the post-match press conference.

After struggling in the home leg, the Titans defence also came good against UP with Abozar Mighani ending up as the top scorer in the defence with four points. Farhad Milaghardan and Vishal Bhardwaj also had a great day at the office and assistant coach Jagdish Kumble was pleased with their performance last evening.

“Yes, I am very pleased with our defence. We have many experienced players and our plan was to play defensively most of the time because they have good raiders. Siddharth also found some form today and grew in confidence, but yes, our defence worked very well today,” Kumble explained.

“This season everyone’s defence has performed very well so far. The new generation of players virtually start playing on the mat so that helps these youngsters who are just entering the league. Add to that the fact that all teams now analyze all the weakness and strengths of opponents and you can understand why it’s been more difficult to raid this year.”
