PKL 2019 | Will bring new and young players in upcoming matches, says Gholamreza Mazandarani

Telugu Titans coach Gholamreza Mazandarani has said that they are going to introduce newer players as their current combinations are not working and the Titans haven't won a single game so far in the season. According to him, young players can often surprise everyone with their performance.
Telugu Titans have lost five of their matches and one of their games ended in a tie. They are at the bottom of the leaderboard despite some good individual performances. Telugu Titans lost 26-47 to the in-form Bengaluru Bulls. In last night’s match, Siddharth Desai got his first super 10 of the season but despite that Telugu lost the match. Titans’ strategies have been ineffective and their defence has performed in bits and pieces.
“Yes, we need to change some things. With the current plan, I don’t think we will be able to succeed. Maybe we will bring in some newer, young players in the coming matches. Sometimes new players can do better than we expect,” Telugu Titans coach Gholamreza Mazandarani said in the post-match press conference.
In the raiding unit, Siddharth did well yesterday but he lacked support, Arman did make some good raids and scored four points but it wasn’t much compared to how oppositions were playing. In defence, Vishal Bhardawaj scored six points but he also lacked support as skipper Abozhar Mighani wasn’t able to score a point.
“It is difficult to come to terms with the result. I got Super Tackled early in the match which shifted the momentum to their side. In the coming matches I will try and ensure that I perform better at such times,” Siddharth Desai said.
On the other hand, Bengaluru Bulls did well in all their departments. Pawan Seharwat was once again the star player of the match as he performed well in raiding as well as defence. Telugu’s biggest point of weakness has been them not playing like a unit as there is no coordination or synchronization. So, it seems that they will make some changes in the upcoming matches which would be interesting to see.
“I think it was our strategy that didn’t work today. The raiders did alright but the defensive strategy was not effective. If they had done better in Super Tackle situations, especially, then we could have done a lot better in this match,” Telugu assitant coach Jagdish Kumble pointed out.
