According to U Mumba coach Sanjeev Kumar Baliyan, K Prapanjan’s Super Raid after the break took the game away from them last night. The Mumba coach has also mentioned that Arjun Deshwal succumbed to the pressure in the last raid of the game and was tackled by the Bengal defenders.

The game between Bengal Warriors and U Mumba was as competitive as expected and went down to the last raid where the Bengal team managed to win the game by 32-30 by getting Arjun Deshwal tackled. U Mumba had a lead at the half-time break but in the first minute of the second half, it was Bengal raider K Prapanjan who turned things around with a three-point raid. Mumba coach Sanjeev Kumar Baliyan also believes that the Super Raid was the reason behind their loss on Friday.

“From start to (almost) the end, the match was in favour of U Mumba. But I think (K. Prapanjan’s) three-point raid after half-time was a turning point. That added a lot of pressure on the team, Arjun Deshwal was getting raid points but even he succumbed to the pressure in the last raid of the match where he was tackled,” Baliyan said during the press conference.

Deshwal had to play as the primary raider of the team in the absence of Abhishek Singh and apart from the last raid, where he was tackled, he had a time on the mat and completed his first Super 10 in PKL. The raider said that some slight mistakes committed by the Mumba side resulted in their defeat last night.

“We have Abhishek Singh, but he couldn’t play today’s match, so I was playing as the main raider. Our defending and raiding was good today, but we made a slight mistake, which is why we lost,” Deshwal explained.
