PKL 2019 | Experienced players handle pressure situations better, believes Ajay Thakur

After winning a thriller last, night Tamil Thalaivas captain Ajay Thakur has said that they won the match because they have an experienced side and the senior players know how to handle pressure situations. Ajay Thakur was the best performer for Tamil Thalaivas as he scored nine raid points.
This was Tamil Thalaivas' third win of the season and as a result of this win, they are now third on the points table with 20 points. Thalaivas showcased an all-round performance because of which they were able to win this close encounter. Both departments of Tamil Thalaivas delivered at the nick of time and that is why they were able to win. Tamil was leading after the first half but they went downhill in the second. Gujarat made a comeback and slowly they managed to inflict an all-out and gain a slight lead.
Even though RahuL Chaudhari only managed to score four points, the raiding unit kept going courtesy of Ajay Thakur. He scored nine raid points including a Super Raid which helped the Thalaivas gain an edge against the Fortunegiants. Soon after the Super Raid, Tamil Thalaivas managed to inflict a second all-out on the Gujarat side thus cementing their lead.Â
“We have an experienced team which knows what is to be done when. This experience is what makes the difference according to me. I think experienced players manage to remain calm and don’t rush themselves in pressure situations. That is the only difference,” skipper Thakur said in the post-match press conference.
