Gujarat Fortunegiants have lost 6 matches in a row but also had a six-day break which has given them time to contemplate and strategize on how to perform better. Patna lost miserably last night and are still at the bottom of the points table so they will be more determined and desperate for a win,

Two time finalist Gujarat Fortunegiants are coming into this match having lost all their home matches but the six day break would have helped coach Manpreet Singh and skipper Sunil Kumar to analyse their previous games and come up with the strategies for the upcoming ones. What goes in their favour for this match is the opponents' form and they will hope to capitalize on it. In the raiding department, Rohit Gulia has been their top raider with 45 points but in the past three matches he has scored only 9 points. Whereas Sachin Tanwar the other raider has scored 44 points and has had a similar fate in the past three matches where he has scored only 13 points. In defence, skipper Sunil has made the highest contribution for the team with 25 points. Defence is Gujarat power but their other defenders have not been able to play as a unit which they will hope to change in this match.

Things went horribly wrong for Patna Pirates in last night’s match against Bengal Warriors where they lost by 9 points. Skipper Pardeep Narwal scored 12 of the total 26 points scored by Patna Pirates but most of them came in the fag end of the game. Bengal inflicted the first all-out in the start of the second half and before Patna could understand what was happening Bengal inflicted another all-out. Apart from Pardeep Narwal nobody was able to score more than three points in the whole match. The defence didn’t seem to be in sync as collectively they were able to score six points. So, coach Ram Mehar Singh has quite a lot of things to straighten out before this match.

Key players

Sachin Tanwar

Gujarat Fortunegiants need a strong presence in the raiding unit and he has shown that he has the potential to be that in season 6 where he scored 190 points in 23 matches. He has the second highest raid points for his team and he will come into with the hope to execute the strategy which will target Patna’s weakened defence.

 Pardeep Narwal

The biggest concern for him is going to be his revival ones he gets out during a raid, he has 17 minutes off the mat average in every match in the season so far and that seems to be Patna’s biggest weakness. So, he and coach Ram Mehar would hope to find a better support raider so that he can stay on the mat for a longer time and work his magic.
