After another loss by one point, Edacherry Bhaskaran has said that they couldn’t capitalize in pressure situations and weren’t able to enforce all-out even when there were only three people left. The Tamil Thalaivas coach has also mentioned that they will look into their errors and rectify them.

This was the second match that Tamil Thalaivas lost with a score difference of just one point. They lost a hard-fought match against Patna Pirates by 23-24 on Monday. Tamil Thalavias raiding unit seemed out of sync and they weren’t able to inflict an all-out. Patna Pirates inflict as many as four Super Tackles on the Thalaivas when they were on the verge of getting all-out. Tamil Thalaivas coach Edacherry Bhaskaran spoke about the importance of the Super Tackles and its impact on the eventual result.

“They executed quite a few Super Tackles in this match. There were situations where the score was tied and they had only three people on the mat. Instead of us capitalizing on it and enforcing an All-Out, their defenders kept tackling us in such situations and in the end, we lost by just one point,” Bhaskaran said in the post-match press conference.

There were quite a few instances where Thalaivas gave out extra points due to stepping out of the white line and these points also cost them. Their raiding department scored a collective of nine points and the defensive unit scored 13 points. The highest individual score for the Thalaivas was five points by Rahul Chaudhari which came too late in the match as a result of which Thalaivas fell behind the Pirates at the end.

“We have to look into the errors we are committing. Mistakes at crucial junctures are not helpful. We’ll look into them and I’ll try to ensure that such mistakes don’t happen in the next few matches,” Bhaskaran concluded.
