UP needs to win this match to stay at the sixth position and as defence was the cause of their defeat in the last match, they will look to better their performance here. Thalaivas tied their last match because of some outstanding performance from Ajith and in this match, they will look for a win.
Despite the raiding department’s 22 points, UP Yoddha lost their last match. Their defence was lacklustre as they were only able to score nine tackle points and made a lot of errors. UP Yoddha lost their last match after a five-match win streak. If they would have won that match, their position in the top 6 would have solidified. Rishank Devadiga showed signs of getting back to form in the last match where he was the top scorer with nine points and he was even well-supported by Shrikant Jadhav who finished the match with eight points. Though the biggest talking point was that skipper Nitesh Kumar failed to score any point and had five unsuccessful tackles in that match. If they win the match today, they will be able to remain in the top six with other match result having no impact on them. But they lose and Jaipur win their match, their position will be threatened because of their point difference.
The last time these two teams met it ended in a tie in the last raid where the UP Yoddha skipper made a mistake and Tamil's skipper was able to get a point to tie the match. Tamil Thalaivas were their usual mistake-making self in the last match but were saved by Ajith's performance who scored his career’s highest score in the last match. Ajith executed four consecutive two-point raids which not only saved them from all-out but also gave them a cushion against the all-out. The rest of the team's performance was the same as their previous matches with defence making same mistakes of advance tackles and raiders not firing at crucial moments.

His return to form has been a big positive for UP Yoddha as now they have two attacking raiders in him and Shrikant Jadhav. He was the highest scorer of the team in the last match where he worked in union with Shrikant. He will hope to continue that form against Thalaivas' weak defence as well.
V. Ajith Kumar
He is now a rising star in PKL as indicated by his previous five performances where he has scored 60 points. If he was used correctly since the beginning the team might have been in a different position currently. Now that he is the main raider for the team, he has more exposure and will look to make the most of it.
