The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has expressed its gratitude to the ISSF, IOA, and the Sports Ministry for the support during the ISSF World Cup. The NRAI had released a statement to convey gratitude and assured the IOC to address the future consequences of the unprecedented scenario.

The NRAI was in a fix after the Indian high commission disallowed visa proposals to the Pakistan shooting contingents ahead of the ISSF World Cup in the capital after a sequence of drama. The International Olympic Committee hit the ceiling when the NRAP addressed the issue and refused the two quotas in the Men’s 25m Rapid Fire Pistol for India.

Men's 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event included three Indian participants in Anish Bhanwala, Arpit Goel, and Adarsh Singh. Two other Indians, Bhavesh Shekhawat, and Gurpreet Singh were taking part for the minimum qualification score. The five shooters would be disappointed at the outcome of the situation as the event was a qualification front for the Olympics.

"The Organising Committee of the New Delhi World Cup wishes to unequivocally thank the ISSF president Vladimir Lisin, the ISSF secretary general Alexander Ratner, the IOA president Dr. Narinder Batra and the Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Col (Retd.) RVS Rathore for ensuring the best possible outcome to a vexed and complex scenario," the NRAI statement read, reported the ToI.

The association was under immense pressure after the IOC had revoked two quotas out of the 16 from eight events overall. The IOC also scraped all the negotiations on the future applications for hosting potential Olympic-related sporting events and raised queries seeking assurance from the government of India.

The NRAI further added in its statement that it will address the other points raised by the IOC and that it will look to communicate with the concerned stakeholders to address the future consequences of this most peculiar and unprecedented scenario.
