India accumulates four silver and five bronze medals at World Junior Wushu Championship

The Indian Wushu team have won four silver medals and five bronze medals at the seventh World Junior Wushu Championship in Brazil. The four silvers were gained in Sanshou, a combat sports, two in the sub-junior category, and two in the junior category of the Championship that was held in Rio.

Babulu (42kg sub-junior), Saleem (56kg sub-junior), Savita (48kg junior), and Rohit (80kg junior) bagged silver medals in Sanshou, a combat sports in the World Junior Wushu Championship, while Himanshu (56kg junior), Shruti (60kg junior) and Janhvi (52kg junior) claimed bronze medals.

In Taolu, otherwise known as Chinese Kung Fu, Karanjit Sharma Hanjabam secured a bronze for himself in boys’ Taijijian event. Dawei Zhou of China was the bearer of gold with a score of 9.42, while the second position was flogged by Naoya Katori of Japan with 9.35 score.

Egypt, as a contender, was able to claim seven medals during the Championship. Mohamed Amin and Samira Mousa increased the number of medals by adding two bronze.
