Youngster Aditya Jagtap pulled off a brilliant win versus top-seeded Mexican Eric Galvez in the ongoing PSA World Tour event at Calgary, Canada in his quarter-final match on Friday. Jagtap, who is an unseeded player in this tournament will face third seed Kyle Finch in the semi-final match today.

After a brilliant win against fifth seed Mark Broeman in the first round, India’s Aditya Jagtap emerged as an underdog challenger in the ongoing PSA World Tour event in Canada. Jagtap was set to play a match with top seed Eric Galvez of Mexico in the quarters who posed a tough challenge to overcome.

However, Aditya Jagtap made a big impression in the ongoing Mount Royal University Open, a PSA World Tour event being held here by toppling the top seed Eric Galvez of Mexico and earn a place in the semi-final.

The gritty Indian showed he could fight a bit by bouncing back from a 1-2 game score situation to put it across the experienced Mexican who has 16 title-wins under his belt, 12-10, 5-11, 9-11, 11-7, 11-8. The whole exciting encounter went on for a period of 75 minutes.

Jagtap is now in line to face British player Kyle Finch who is the third seed in the semi-final match to be played today in Calgary. If he wins today’s encounter he will face either of the duo of Michael McCue of Canada or Charlie Johnson of England in the finals of the tournament.
