Indian squash player Joshna Chinappa has been knocked out of the ongoing Macau Open squash championship after getting beaten by Hong Kong’s Annie Au in the semi-final. The player from Hong Kong dominated the entire semi-final game and eventually won it in straight games 11-4, 11-5, 12-10.

Joshna Chinappa's fighting presence in the Macau Open, a PSA major event, ended on Saturday when she lost to the top seed Annie Au of Hong Kong in straight games 11-4, 11-5, 12-10 in the semi-final.

The third seeded Indian has played Annie several times on the international circuit but lately the Hong Kong player has had the upperhand. In the latest meeting too except for the moments of spark in the third game when Joshna stretched the game there was little to suggest a come back by the Indian.

Earlier in the tournament, Chinappa moved into the semi-final with a convincing 11-8, 11-2, 11-9 win over fifth seed Mayar Hany of Egypt. However for the second seed Indian Saurav Ghosal, it was an unexpected exit in the men's section with sixth seed Greg Lobban of Scotland chalking out a 6-11, 11-811-5, 11-8 win for a last four place. Chinappa was the only Indian in the top four of the competition.
