Abhay Singh and Sunayna Kuruvilla have won the men’s and women’s Tamil Nadu State Closed Squash Championship titles respectively in Chennai on Wednesday. Abhay defeated top seed Vikas Mehra in straight games while Kuruvilla won the title by getting the better of Aparajitha Balamurukan.

Abhay Singh of ISA and Sunayna Kuruvilla of Bhavans emerged the men's and women's champions in the Tamil Nadu State Closed squash championship which concluded at the ISA courts here on Wednesday.

Abhay was seeded two but loking far more accomplished knocked out the top seed Vikas Mehra also of ISA in straight games. Not once did Abhay look out of sync with his known ability where Vikas struggled and many a time gave away points through unforced errors. Far more competitive was the women's final with Sunayna, top seed showing a steady approach to wear down Aparajitha Balamurukan again in straight games. 

In all ISA pupils came up with eight titles of the 11 at stake. National coach Cyrus Poncha gave away the prizes to the various winners.
