Squash | India’s Anahat Singh wins British Junior Open U-11 title

Indian squash player Anahat Singh has won the British Junior Open Title in Birmingham after defeating top seed Whitney Wilson from Malaysia. The squash player won the title in the under 11 girls’ category and she is the sixth Indian to do so in the annual calendar event in the United Kingdom.

Every year there is an Indian who demands attention at the British Junior Open. This year it was the turn of Delhi's Anahat Singh to earn honours as she rose to win the U-11 girls' title in this prestigious Championship here today. The Indian national champion who was seeded ¾ defeated the top seed Malaysian Whitney Wilson 13-11, 11-9, 7-11, 11-9 to clinch the title. Anahat is the sixth Indian to win a title in this annual event in the UK.

The impressive Indian had earlier accounted for the second seed Egyptian Sohayla Hazem Farouk 11-8, 9-11, 11-7, 11-9 in the semi-final game. She continued her excellent run in the final as well and managed to clinch the title in the city of Birmingham in the United Kingdom. 

The British Junior Open (BJO) in Birmingham is one of the world’s most prestigious junior squash tournament and is an annual event in the UK.
