Joshna Chinappa has made it to the quarter-final round of the ongoing Women's Black Ball Squash Open tournament in Cairo, Egypt. The Indian squash player defeated Sarah-Jane Perry by 11-4, 6-11, 14-12, 11-9 points in a match that went for 50 minutes to reach the next round of the PSA gold event.

Joshna Chinappa is in sizzling touch. The ace Indian seems to have drawn enough inspiration after downing legend Nicol David in the first round that she wore down the England sixth seed Sarah-Jane Perry 11-4, 6-11, 14-12, 11-9 to storm into the quarterfinal of the Women's Black Ball Squash Open, a PSA gold event here late on Tuesday.

This is Joshna's first win over Sarah in almost seven years having beaten her last in the 2012 Chennai Open. Then again it was a match of over four games but on this occasion, the Indian seemed in greater control and nothing displayed that better than the first game. Though the higher ranked English lady came back strongly in the next, Joshna was ready for the fight and fight she did decisively.

In the last eight, Joshna will play against Joelle King of New Zealand at the prestigious tournament where she earlier had defeated Nicol David in the opening round.
