Junior Table Tennis player Manav Thakkar lost both the boy’s singles and also the doubles quarterfinal match along with his partner Manush Shah to crash out of the 2018 World Junior Championships. The World Junior Championships 2018 this time is being held at Bendigo in Australia.

Manav Thakkar was defeated by his Chinese opponent Xiang Peng in the quarterfinal match of the World Junior Championships 2018 by a scoreline of 3-4 with the scorecard reading 11-6, 11-5, 7-11, 14-16, 11-4, 8-11 and 11-8 to the Chinese star. The Indian started the match on a slow note, losing the first two games quickly 6-11 and 5-11. But soon he found his mojo and hit back by taking the next two games in succession. The fourth game stretched to 30 points with finally the Indian getting the better of his opponent and taking 16 points.

Peng though was not one to give up as he came back strongly winning the next game easily 11-4. The seesaw battle between the paddlers continued as the Indian pulled the next game into his account taking it 11-8. In the last game of the match, Feng prevailed and defeated Thakkar 11-8.

It was a poor show in the doubles category too for the Indians as Thakkar who partnered Manush Shah lost the quarterfinals in straight games to their Chinese Taipei opponent pair of Feng-Yi-Hsin and Li-Hsin-Yang 11-9, 11-9, 11-7. The Indian pair gave a tough fight in the first two games to the Chinese Taipei pair but the Taiwanese were just too good for the Indian boys.
