Czech Junior and Cadet Open : Manav Thakkar and Manush Shah lose 3-1 to Yingbin Xu and Heyi Yu in final

Indian paddling duo of Manav Thakkar and Manish Shah had to settle for a silver medal in the Czech Junior and Cadet Open, a part of the 2018 ITTF Premier Junior Circuit in Hodonin. The second-seeded Indian pair lost 3-1 to the giant-killing Chinese pair of Yingbin Xu and Heyi Yu in the final.
The Indian pair of Manav Thakkar and Manish Shah sailed to the finals of the tournament with ease after defeating the Egypt-Italy team of Youssef Abdel-Aziz and Carlo Rossi 3-0 in the semi-finals. However, it wasn't a fairytale ending to the season as they ended up losing the final 3-1 to the Chinese pair of Yingbin Xu and Heyi.
In the semifinals, the Indian pair were made to work hard as they won the first game 13-11, but followed it with easy wins of 11-8, 11-7 in the next two games to eventually make it to the final of the competition.
