Siddhesh Pande and Kaushani Nath have continued their impressive run in the East Zone National-ranking table tennis tournament. Manav Thakkar and Sutirtha Mukherjee, too, have won comfortably over Raj Mondal and Ayhika Mukherjee respectively to make it to the last four of the event.

It was a dream run for Pande and Nath in the qualifying round where they emerged victorious by remaining unbeaten in the tournament. And in the main round of the competition, they continued their sublime performance by winning the quarter finals of the main round as well. Pande overcame Sougata Sarkar of LIC 11-7, 13-11, 9-11, 11-7, 14-16, 11-6 while Nath got the better of former National champion Ankita Das 12-10, 5-11, 11-8, 11-5, 11-2.

Pande did not hesitate from going defensive and committing errors against Amalraj and Sarkar. However, while leading the game 3-1, he lost his focus in the fifth round, but he brought his concentration back in the sixth game by making it 8-6.

For Nath, this was her best performance till date. Against Ankita, who is also aggressive on the table, the 17-year-old from West Bengal played really well on the counters. Once she took a 3-1 lead, she completely went on the offensive taking an 8-2 lead in the fifth to close out the match.

While the newbies excelled in their categories, top seeds Manav Thakkar and Sutirtha Mukherjee comfortably won their battle over Raj Mondal and Ayhika Mukherjee respectively to make it to the last four.
