Ultimate Table Tennis | Sharath Kamal to play for Chennai Lions while Kolkata have Manika Batra for season 3
Ace Indian paddler Achanta Sharath Kamal has been roped in by the newly-formed Chennai Lions for the upcoming third season of the Ultimate Table Tennis championship. Manika Batra will represent the Kolkata side while among the foreigners Hong Kong’s Doo Hoi Kem will play for U Mumba.
The next season of the premier table-tennis event of the country is scheduled to start from July 25 this year. Chennai Lions is the new team for the year and they will have the services of the star paddler Sharath Kamal in their first edition in the tournament. Mavericks Kolkata have signed top-ranked female table-tennis player Manika Batra for this year’s tournament.
On the other hand, 25-year-old Sathiyan Gnanasekaran was retained by the Delhi franchise for this year and the team was not allowed to pick a player in the first round of the draft.
Hong Kong’s Doo Hoi Kem will play for U Mumba while Puneri Paltan will have Harmeet Desai among the top Indian players.
