Rohan Bopanna and Florin Mergea lost to the second-seeded team of Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau 6-4, 6-3 in the final of ATP World Tour Finals at London on Sunday. The loss ended their dream run at the year-ender which began with a shock win over the Bryan brothers in the group stage.

Rohan Bopanna, whose serve has been lethal in the tournament so far, was broken in the opening game of the first set and that set the tone for the rest of the game. Julien Roger and Horia Tecau, who partnered Bopanna back in 2005, won the first set 6-4 in the end.

Roger and Tecau were playing aggressively with both the players placing themselves at the net in every point. Bopanna and Mergea were unable to find their passing shots or lobs from the baseline.

In the second set, Bopanna was broken once again in the fifth game. Horia smashed a backhand winner on a second serve from the Indian tennis star to set up three break points. In the next point, Rojer executed a delightful lob to win the game.

At 5-3, Bopanna was serving to remain in the game and the Indian was broken for the third time in the match, as Rojer and Tecau sealed the victory at the year- ender. The win alsotakes the pair to the top of the men's doubles ranking.
