Wimbledon Draw: Murray and Kerber seeded 1st, Federer seeded 3rd

The seedings for the top 32 players in men’s and women’s singles were announced today with Andy Murray and Angelique Kerber getting the top seed in their respective draws. John Peers/Henri Kontinen and Bethanie Mattek-Sands/Lucie Safarova were seeded No. 1 in men's & women's doubles respectively.

The Championship 2017 will start on 3rd July and the seeding for the tournaments were announced today. Murray was given the top seed ahead of the Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafeal Nadal. World number 3 Stan Wawrinka, who has never reached the semi-finals at Wimbledon, was seeded fifth. Canada’s Milos Raonic was seeded sixth with Marin Cilic, Dominic Theim, Kei Nishikori and Alexander Zverev completing the top 10 spots.

In the Women’s draw, the German player Kerber was given the No. 1 seed. 25-year-old Simona Halep was seeded 2nd, Karolina Pliskova 3rd and Elina Svitolina 4th. America’s Venus Williams is seeded 10th, ahead of two-time champion Petra Kvitova, who recently returned to the circuit.

In men’s doubles, India’s Rohan Bopanna and his partner, France’s Edouard Roger-Vasselin, were given the 8th seed. In the Women’s doubles, India’s star player Saina Mirza and her partner from Belgium, Kirsten Flipkens, were given the 13th seed.
