Sania Mirza and Barbara Strycova knocked out of Indian Wells

The pair of Sania Mirza and Barbara Strycova were knocked out of the BNP Paribas Open, after going down to Martina Hingis and Yung-jan Chan in the quarter-finals. Leander Paes and his doubles partner Juan Martin del Potro have also lost their men's doubles match to be out of the tournament.
Though the Indo-Czech pair had won the Cincinnati Open and Toray Pan Pacific Open last year, they were unable to replicate the same
Sania and Barbara had defeated Sara Errani of Italy and Alicja Rosolska of Poland 6-2, 6-3 in the last round to come thus far but Sania's exit also marks the end of the Indian campaign at the tournament after Leander Paes and his Argentine partner Juan Martin del Potro went down 3-6, 4-6 to American Sam Querrey and Gilles MĂŒller of Luxembourg in the men's doubles category. Querrey and Muller hit six aces in comparison to just two from the Indo- Argentine pair. This allowed Querrey and Muller to chalk out a straight sets win in just over an hour.
Saniaâs defeat to Hingis is a touch ironic, given that the two of them had forged one of the most successful partnerships in womenâs doubles until they decided to part ways.
