India finished on all the three podiums in wrestling event as Kiran defeated Mauritius’ Katouskia Pariadhaven 5-0 to win the Women’s 76kg bronze medal event. Earlier, India’s Rahul Aware won the gold in 57 kg gold event, while Babita Kumari won silver in Women’s 53kg Nordic Final.

Kiran has had a strange campaign in the Women’s 76kg category. The previous two fights saw Kiran face Cameroon’s Danielle Sino Gumde and Nigeria’s Blessing Onyebuchi and both the events saw her at the end of drastic results.

While the first bout against Danielle saw the Indian wrestler win 11-1 in the very first period easily, against the Nigerian, Kiran lost in the first period 10-1. One loss and a win meant that Kiran had to face Paridhavan in the lower stage of the Repehcage round to ensure a bronze medal.

And the bronze bout wasn’t any different in terms of nature from the previous two bouts, which had finished in a flash. Kiran started off in a hurry as she forced Pariadhaven out of the ring in no time. It was followed by a four-point win where Kiran took down the Mauritius wrestler. It was followed two consecutive two points as she ended up winning 10-0.
