Though Divya Kakran clinched a bronze in the 68 kg category in Asian Games, Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) will likely send her a show cause notice for missing the national camp. Divya went on to participate in a Dangal missing the national camp without seeking permission from WFI.

Divya Kakran defeated Chinese Taipei's Chen Wenling in the 68 kg freestyle event to bag a bronze medal in the Asian Games being held at Jakarta/Palembang. Despite her achievement, Divya will have to face WFI for being absent in the national camp from August 1-13 without the approval of the body as she went to play in a Dangal.

As reported by 'The Tribune’, Divya will probably receive a show cause notice by the WFI for being absent from the national camp. WFI President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh mentioned that the wrestler was not disturbed earlier as her preparations would have been disrupted because of the issue.

“We didn’t serve her the notice earlier because we thought it might disrupt her preparations,” Singh told 'The Tribune’.

“This kind of behaviour is unexpected. The federation, Sports Authority of India and Government of India have invested a lot in them. Because they are medal hopefuls, they think they can get away. Not anymore. They will have to face the consequences for indiscipline,” he added.

Another Indian wrestler, Pinki, would also receive a show cause notice owing to missing the national camp. It has been reported that she missed the camp because of her engagements in felicitation ceremonies after she bagged a gold in the You Dagar International in Istanbul, this July.
