India's budding sprinter, Nisar Ahmed, who is just 17 years old, is on a high after he was praised by both Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake. Ahmed was one of the 14 athletes from all over the world selected for a month-long training camp in February at the world famous Racers Club, Kingston, Jamaica.

While he was training at the Racers Club with his coach Glen Mills, there was disbelief for a few seconds among the assembled trainees as they saw Bolt walk in. However, the trainees soon ran towards the well-loved athletics legend who has won eight Olympic Gold medals.

“It was literally a dream come true for me. I can’t believe my luck that I was actually meeting king Bolt in flesh and blood. To chat with him and click photos was a surreal feeling. I couldn’t ask for more,” Nisar told TOI.

The son of a rickshaw puller from Bada Bagh slum in Delhi’s Azadpur area, Nisar recalled his day with Bolt and how the 31-year old great shared an inspiring message. The budding sprinter also met Yohan Blake and received words of encouragement from him as well.

“Bolt said I am recording good timings in my age category and that I need to improve on my technique to become a successful international sprinter. Similarly, Blake said my running is good, I have speed and advised me to continue the hard work,” Nasir added.

The youngster also got his spikes signed by both Bolt and Blake. Nisar has been rewriting under-16 national records in 100m at different meets with excellent sub-11 timings since September last year and this meeting with two all-time greats will inspire the youngster.
