In the Hyderabad Open, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty claimed the title by beating an Indonesia pair in the men's doubles final, while Sameer Verma won the singles event against Jen Ven Soong. The mixed doubles team, however, lost to the Indonesian team in the tournament.

Sameer Verma secured a straight-forward victory against Malaysia’s Joo Ven Soong. During the initial stages of the first game, Joo Ven seemed to be holding a higher ground. By the time, the game reached the break time, Verma had only 7 points. As the match progressed, Verma collected ten consecutive points to tilt the game in his favour and eventually won the game 21-15.

Game 2, however, was a completely different scenario. It was an intense encounter with both the opponents going neck to neck to each other. At the break in the second game, Verma was leading by one point. But, after that, the Indian shuttler snatched three consecutive points towards the end to conclude his victory by a margin of 21-18.

In the men's doubles encounter, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty successfully subdued the duo of Akbar Bintang Cahyono and Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani. In the initial stages of Game 1, both the teams had an equally ferocious approach. India was leading by a point as they reached the break. After the break, India kept on taking consecutive points to create an irreplaceable gap between their scores, before concluding it at the scores of 21-16.

Game 2 was more or less a given match for the Indian team as they continued their influence throughout the game. As the game reached the break, Indonesia had only six points against India’s lead. Indonesia had only managed 14 points as the hosts' claimed the second game as well, overall winning the match by 21-16, 21-14.

In the mixed doubles event, however, India had to face disappointment as the Indian duo of Pranaav Jerry Chopra and Reddy N. Sikki was defeated by Indonesian Akbar Bintang Cahyono and Winny Oktavina Kandow 15-21, 21-19, 25-23.

Indonesia took away the first game with ease. Though India managed to establish a lead in the second game, the team could continue the momentum in the third game and surrendered in the last game, which was extended up to 25 points.
