Indian shuttler Ajay Jayaram failed to enter the main draw of the USD 600,000 Korea Open World Tour Super 500 tournament after losing in the qualification round in Seoul on Tuesday. Saina Nehwal and Sameer Verma will represent India in the main draw of the Korea Open Badminton Tournament.

It was a disappointing qualification round for Indian shuttler Ajay Jayaram as he lost to China’s Zhao Junpeng 24-26, 18-21 in the men's singles category and failed to reach the main draw of the tournament.

Another Indian shuttler Vaidehi Choudhari lost to Korea's Kim Ga Eun 8-21, 8-21 while Mugdha Agrey was defeated by Li Xuerui of China by 21-8, 21-8 in the women's singles category.

The tournament is being played at SK Handball Stadium in Seoul, South Korea. The Korea Open is the eighteenth tournament of the BWF World Tour in this year and the likes of Viktor Axelsen, Kento Momota, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Tommy Sugiarto are participating in it.

Saina Nehwal will meet Kim Hyo Min and Sameer Verma will face Anders Antonsen in the Korea Open. Kidambi Srikanth withdrew from Korea Open after participating in Japan and China Open in the last two weeks.
