Sindhu would be facing ChIna’s Cai Yanyan today and is expected to get things wrapped up in no time. She had defeated Denmark’s Mia Blichfeldt quite easily 21-13, 21-19 in the previous round and has looked to be in serious form this campaign.

Saina Nehwal would be facing the second-seeded Japanese star Nozomi Okuhara next and it is going to be a cracker of a match. She had to overcome a resilient Thailand’s Pornpawee Chochuwong in the last round who dragged the match to the decider but eventually lost 21-18, 16-21, 21-19.

Kidambi Srikanth’s campaign could very well end today as he comes up against current World No.1 Kento Momota who has had the upper hand over the Indian for quite some time now. Srikanth beat Denmark’s Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus fairly easily 21-12, 23-21, and this hurdle could pretty much define his run.

Another male shuttler, Sameer Verma has defeated China’s Lu Guangzhu 21-15, 21-18 in the previous round and will be up against World No.2  Chou Tien Chen in the quarterfinal.
