Sachin Siwach secured India's only boxing gold medal at the ongoing Commonwealth Youth Games in Bahamas in the light flyweight (49kg) category. In the girls' section, Jony lost her final bout in the lightweight (60kg) category to Australian boxer Ella Jade Boot by a margin of a single point.

Siwach, who is the reigning world youth gold medallist, beat Welsh boxer James Nathan Probert in a one-sided final. The final scorecard handed the win to the Indian by a score of 4-1 in the light flyweight category.

However, he wasn't the only Indian to step on the winner's podium as Jony won a silver medal in the lightweight category after losing her bout to 2-3 to Ella Jade Boot in the final clash.

In the bantamweight (56kg) category, Muhammed Etash Khan made it three medals on the day for India after he went down in the semi-final to England's Reuben Shiloh Defreitas 2-3 to secure the bronze.
