South African chinaman bowler Tabraiz Shamsi will replace the injured Samuel Badree in the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad for the rest of the IPL. Badree has missed all of the three matches of RCB so far, after injuring his shoulder during the World T20 final between England and West Indies.

RCB bowling coach Allan Donald welcomed the South African 'mystery' bowler into the squad, and said that he will add a lot of variation to the attack.

“Meet our new mysterious spinner. He has arrived from Johannesburg this morning. Yet to get to know him a lot better but I’ve seen him bowl for the Titans. He is very successful with what he’s done in the past couple of years so I think Dan has made a good buy for us. So look out for a lot of mystery balls in there!,” Allan Donald was quoted as saying on RCB's official website.

Shamsi is a 26-year old chinaman bowler and has previously played in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), after grabbing a lot of attention during the West Indies’ tour of South Africa in 2014-15. The Proteas bowler picked 11 wickets in seven games, at an average of 13.27, for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the CPL 2015, at an economy rate of 6.79 runs an over. In the Ram Slam T20 tournament, he played for the Titans and picked up nine wickets in ten games.
